Two-Vein Venipuncture Training Aid - Dermalike II™ Latex Free - Darkly PigmentedNow 100% Latex-Free! These unique training aids are simpler and smaller versions of our popular Advanced Venipuncture Training Aid™. Venipuncture Training Aid has two barely discernable blue veins of different inside diameters, positioned at the same depth in a semi-transparent, soft tissue-like material. Your patients don’t have one size of veins, so why practice and learn on a “one size vein fits all” IV arm? Many clinicians have commented when using various other IV training models, “I wish all our patients had veins this big”. These models were specifically designed to make accessing more challenging, as this is how technique and confidence are improved.
This model permits clinicians to learn technique and gain initial confidence when accessing the larger veins. Competency and technique can be improved by progressing from the easier large veins to the more difficult smaller and deeper veins. When accessing, the skin rolls as the vein is palpated and a “pop” is felt as the needle enters the vein. Many hospitals and home health sites utilize these training aids to insure that the competency of all staff members is assessed, maintained, demonstrated and improved continually.
Now made with latex-free Dermalike™ with 50% less needle drag when accessing the underlying veins and improved tear resistance to permit a greater number of needle “sticks”. You do not need to use excessive force to access as has been reported when accessing the latex veins still used by other manufacturers. Redesigned, these models now come with a snap-on cover to protect the tissue pad when stored. These compact, lightweight, easily transportable, economical, and non-staining training aids are a great alternative to larger, heavier and more expensive models.
